Universitas Andalas Distributes KIP Scholarships to 1,452 Students to Expand Educational Access in line with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities)
Padang, 09 December 2024
Universitas Andalas continues to strengthen
its commitment to inclusive education by distributing KIP (Indonesia Smart
Card) scholarships to 1,452 students, supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education) and
SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). This initiative aims to ensure that students
from economically disadvantaged backgrounds can pursue higher education without
financial barriers.
The scholarship distribution was carried out
by Universitas Andalas in Padang as part of the government-supported KIP Kuliah
program, which provides financial assistance to eligible students across
Indonesia.
The recipients consist of new and continuing
students who have met the eligibility criteria based on economic conditions and
academic potential. This support covers tuition fees as well as living
allowances to help students focus on their studies.
The program addresses the ongoing challenge of
unequal access to higher education, particularly for students from low-income
families who often face financial constraints in continuing their academic
journey.
In addition to financial support, Universitas
Andalas also provides academic guidance and mentoring to ensure that
scholarship recipients can perform well and complete their studies
successfully.
Through this initiative, Universitas Andalas
aims to produce high-quality graduates while promoting equal opportunities in
education and reducing socio-economic disparities.
