UNAND Supports SDG 9 and SDG 16 through SAKU 3.0 Financial Management Digitalization
Padang, 29 December 2025
Padang, December 29, 2025 — Universitas Andalas (UNAND) continues to strengthen
digital-based financial governance by organizing a socialization program on
financial management business processes and technical guidance for the use of
the SAKU Version 3.0 application.
The two-day activity was held at the
UNAND Convention Hall on December 28–29 and was attended by financial
management officials and finance administration staff across the university.
The program was part of UNAND’s preparation to implement SAKU Version 3.0,
which is planned to begin in January 2026.
The activity was attended by Dr.
Hefrizal Handra, M.Soc.Sc., Vice Rector II for Finance and Asset Management. On
the first day, the session began with a presentation on financial management
business processes delivered by Dr. Suhanda, who explained the preparations and
innovations carried out by UNAND in developing the latest version of SAKU.
Dr. Suhanda stated that SAKU Version
3.0 had gone through a long development process since the beginning of the
year, including design updates, system development, trials, and simulations.
With these stages completed, the application is now ready to be implemented
within Universitas Andalas.
The workshop aimed to equip
financial managers with a comprehensive understanding of financial management
workflows as well as the technical skills needed to operate the latest version
of the SAKU application. Through this training, UNAND seeks to ensure that all
financial management actors are prepared to use the system effectively when
implementation begins.
Dr. Hefrizal Handra appreciated the
performance of the application development team under the Directorate of
Information Technology. He emphasized that the process leading to SAKU Version
3.0 was not easy, as it involved various challenges, testing stages, and
improvements before the system could be trusted and used optimally at UNAND.
Ade Priyanto, S.Kom., from the
Directorate of Information Technology team, explained several improvements in
SAKU Version 3.0 compared to the previous version. These include expanded user
access for all actors involved in the fund disbursement process, digital
approval of documents by authorized officials, and greater flexibility in
document validation without having to wait for all files to be printed.
The development of SAKU Version 3.0
reflects UNAND’s commitment to using technology to support transparent,
effective, and integrated financial governance across the university. By
improving financial workflows and reducing dependence on printed documents, the
application is expected to make administrative processes faster, more
accountable, and more efficient.
This initiative supports SDG 9
Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by strengthening UNAND’s digital
infrastructure for institutional financial management. Through the development
of SAKU Version 3.0, the university demonstrates how information technology can
be used to modernize administrative systems and support more efficient
institutional operations.
The program also aligns with SDG
16 Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions because transparent, accountable,
and integrated financial governance is an important foundation for strong
public institutions. By introducing digital approval, wider system access, and
clearer financial workflows, UNAND strengthens institutional accountability and
improves the quality of its internal governance.
Through this activity, UNAND
reaffirmed its commitment to building a more adaptive and accountable digital
campus. The implementation of SAKU Version 3.0 is expected to become an
important step in improving financial management services and supporting better
governance at Universitas Andalas.
