Andalas University Becomes One of the Fastest Producers of Professors in Indonesia in line with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure)

Andalas University continues to strengthen its
role in advancing higher education quality by becoming one of the fastest
universities in Indonesia in producing professors, in line with SDG 4 (Quality
Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure). This
achievement reflects the university’s commitment to academic excellence and
research productivity.
This statement was delivered by the Rector of Andalas
University, Efa Yonnedi, in Padang on May 4, 2025, highlighting the
institution’s academic progress and transformation in recent years.
The recognition was based on a significant
milestone achieved in 2024, when Andalas University successfully inaugurated 37
new professors in a single year, marking a historic record for the institution.
According to the rector, this accomplishment
demonstrates a dynamic and productive academic environment where research and
scientific development continue to grow rapidly across disciplines.
In addition, Andalas University has
strengthened its academic reputation through global rankings, including its
position in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and its
standing in Indonesia’s Science and Technology Index (SINTA).
Through continuous improvement in research
output, internationalization, and academic capacity, Andalas University aims to
further enhance its position as a leading university that contributes to
national development and global knowledge advancement.
